Cedar stands by its motto: “Putting People First.” In addition to its consumer-centered approach to debt collections, the Cedar team seeks to make an impact on the local community by contributing to great causes.
This year, members of the Cedar team joined Strength United at the Kick-off Weekend for the LA Big 5K, running a 3.1-mile Marathon in support of families in need. Employees donned their shirts and sneakers and raised funds and awareness for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child maltreatment.
Founded in 1986, Strength United is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending violence, empowering families and developing leaders. Each year, Strength United serves 15,000 children, adults and families, free of charge, that have experienced child maltreatment, domestic violence, and/or sexual abuse.
“It was a great day to be outside,” said Anahi Cortes, Cedar employee. “I had fun running alongside colleagues, and of course, it felt good to be supporting the cause. I look forward to joining again next year!”
Cedar Financial is also looking forward to again participating in WE Build – Women’s Empowerment Build 2019, an event supporting Homes4Families in building homes for veterans and their families. On May 11, our female volunteers will put on their pink hard hats and get building in support of those who have fought so bravely for our nation.
Homes 4 Families was founded in Los Angeles in 2008 and exists to meet the significant need for affordable housing and effective, no-cost services that equip veteran families to move up the economic ladder. For more information, visit: https://www.homes4families.org/.
